Our first Spirituals and Black Gospel Exhibit, Franklin Township Library, Somerset, NJ, March 2013

In 2013 we were preparing to give a multimedia presentation at the Franklin Township Library, Somerset, New Jersey, on the Origins and Evolution of Spirituals and Black Gospel Music. In view of the past popularity of our library exhibits, we installed a Spirituals and Black Gospel Music Exhibit in the smaller library display window. We squeezed into the window a large diverse collection of black spirituals and gospel memorabilia. Our multimedia presentation was another huge success, but people loved the display so much they didn’t want it taken down. That display would expand into our next one.
