For Christmas in Fairmount Park (Philadelphia, PA), six decked-out 18th- and 19th-century park mansions — Strawberry Mansion, Cedar Grove, Mount Pleasant, Laurel Hill, Lemon Hill and Woodford Mansion — will open their doors for holiday treats and tours. During “A Very Philly Christmas,” (December 3-4, 10-11), each day boasts a different theme: music, food, family and neighbors. On Saturday, December 3, the historic houses will host “Sounds of the Season”, sponsored by WRTI, celebrating the musical diversity of the city with participation by Opera Philadelphia, the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, Artístas y Músicos Latino Americanos, the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and the Performing Arts, the Mummers and our own acappella .doo wop group “Quiet Storm”,
Quiet Storm will be singing at the Laurel Hill Mansion, 7210 Randolph Drive, in Fairmount Park, between 1:30 and 2:30 PM. Tickets should be purchased in advance. You can purchase tickets to all the mansions or just one. Tickets for just Quiet Storm are $8 plus a small processing fee. Space is limited so purchase early.
We now understand you can get tickets at the door (cash or credit card) and no reservations are needed. We do advise you to get there early, though as there could well be a crowd to see Quiet Storm. You can also purchase tickets on line at Very Philly Christmas..
