In February 2015 we greatly expanded our West Side Music Exhibit that had been in Asbury Park and moved it to Monmouth University. In addition to rare photographs, we now included phonograph records, posters, sheet music, musical instruments, uniforms, and even the old unrestored marquee from the Turf Club on Springwood Avenue, rescued by our friends at the Asbury Park Historical Society. We held an opening reception with acappella singing by our friends, the Tee Tones and on another night gave a curator’s lecture. The exhibit remained viewable the month of February (Black History Month).
