We’ve been hearing a lot of good comments about Tom Harford and
Tony O’s TNT monthly get-togethers at the PL Lounge at 51 Louis Avenue, South
Hackensack, NJ, so we decided to spend an evening there. The occasion was the
beginning of their third year of social gatherings for dedicated
enthusiasts of vocal group harmony. Once a month these music fans assemble to
listen to a rotating list of DJ’s spinning some of the best and rarest group
sides around. They also have open microphones set up in case any vocal groups
want to sing.
On Friday evening, January 6, 2012, a
number of DJ’s including Angelo Pompeo, Rich Sibello, Paul Ressler, George
Tompkins, Al Trommers, Stevie G., Tom Harford, and Tony O. played rare
sounds.
On this night, two vocal groups were
present, The (NY) Expressions and The Solitaires. The NY Expressions sang
four songs to music tracks, including “Tonight Could Be The Night” and “I
Only Have Eyes For You”.
Three members of The Solitaires were in
the audience; Milton Love, Don Cruz, and Al Grant. With the help of a
couple of other singers they gave us wonderful acappella renditions of
“Please Remember My Heart”, “Blue Valentine”, and “I Wonder Why”.
We had a wonderful time seeing old
friends and listening to great music. To get on the groups mailing list,
email Tom Harford at

Facebook Page. Group get-togethers are held monthly.
