South Philly String
Band Club
After Party to 6th Philly Doo Wop Festival
Philadelphia, PA, September 17, 2011
After the 6th Annual Philly Doo Wop Festival on September 17,
2011, many of us headed for the after party being held at the South Philly
String Band Club, at 2820 Porter Street in Philadelphia. This is the
site of many great regular doo wop and acappella shows, usually held every
second Wednesday. There's always a great buffet, a DJ spinning dance
music and plenty of acappella harmony. No specific vocal groups were
scheduled that evening, but with Open Mic Night, we knew there would be
plenty of singers stopping by, along with doo wop fans from all over in the
city for the Festival. We were not disappointed as we were treated to
great spontaneous doo wop singing by Junior and the Four Seniors and Quiet
Storm. We also saw many of our music friends there. It was a
great night.
Eddie Natale and Bobby Buerklin always put on
a great doo wop event at the South Philly String Band Club. For info
