MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: The world premiere of “Streetlight Harmonies,” the documentary about Doo Wop music will take place during the DOC NYC film festival on Tuesday night, November 14 at 7:30 pm at the Cinepolis Chelsea, 260 W 23rd St, New York City. This is the documentary that Pam and I have been consulting on. It stars Fred Parris, Little Anthony, Vito Picone, Jimmy Merchant, Barbara Jean English, Billy Brown, Ronald Coleman, Lois Harris Powell, Sammy Strain, La La Brooks, Charlie Thomas, Terry Johnson, Diz Russell, Jerry Blavat, Val Shively, and a host of others, including Classic Urban Harmony’s own Charlie Horner. Hundreds of photos of groups, sheet music, posters, etc. from the Classic Urban Harmony Archives. We’ve seen the rough cut. This is a fabulous documentary. After the film showing, Quiet Storm will sing two songs acappella and then they’ll be a short Q&A session with many of the singers in the film. The public is invited to the world premiere.
