Classic Urban Harmony Press and Earl Lewis are thrilled to announce that Earl’s book, “How D’Ya Like Me Now: The Story of Earl Lewis & the Channels” is now published …
Classic Urban Harmony has produced and emceed more than 65 vocal harmony concerts over the past ten years, in locations ranging from nightclubs and community ballrooms to major theatres and outdoor venues. [Before Classic Urban Harmony LLC was formed, Charlie produced more than a dozen doo wop concerts in Philadelphia, PA, as far back as 1979.
Most of our concerts involved acappella doo wop groups, though we did produce one major six-group gospel concert at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (Ocean Grove, NJ) and we celebrated the 50-year career of soul vocal group, the Masqueraders with a six group major concert at the Bickford Theatre (Morristown, NJ). We are currently bringing in acappella groups to Roxy & Dukes Roadhouse (Dunellen, NJ) on a monthly basis. We’ve produced three major acappella concerts (called Doo Wop Explosion 1, 2, and 3) at Monmouth University’s 713-seat Pollak Theatre (West Long Branch, NJ). We are now producing a series of concerts at the 330-seat Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center in West Chester, PA. We have a strong preference for acappella groups, as we like the pure harmony, but we do on occasion produce shows with groups having bands or even tracks.
We can produce and emcee vocal group concerts of any size. Many libraries, museums and community organizations utilize us to produce single group acappella concerts, for which we provide the singing group and sound system, emcee and assist with publicity through our website and email newsletter when requested. We can also recommend photographers and videographers for your event.
Many of the acappella groups we work with are described on our Book A Group Page. We also have regular contact with all the major doo wop acts and can pretty much book you any group that you want, depending on your budget.
