Classic
Urban Harmony Doo Wop Presentation at Bridgewater Public Library Another
Big Success!!!
Our
April 2 multimedia presentation, “Under
the Streetlights: Tales From the Doo Wop Era” drew a near capacity
audience. The talk took place on the 60th Anniversary of the
introduction of the vinyl 45 RPM record. Among the
approximately sixty people who came out to our latest talk were a
number of celebrities including Bobby
Thomas of the Vibranaires and Orioles; John Wilson of the
Silhouettes; Elaine and Shana Lewis, wife and daughter of Rick
Lewis, late Silhouettes tenor; Vic Donna of the Parakeets; Shelly Buchansky
originally of Vito &
the Salutations and now with Silk City, Kid Kyle's Kool Kats and
several other groups; and Jim Bakay radio personality from WRDV and
Goldradio and member of the acappella group, Street Corner Five.
Following the presentation, all of the celebrities were happy to
sign autographs and greet members of the audience.
Attendees also enjoyed our doo wop memorabilia
display. While in the area, many of the singers took the time
to tour our Classic Urban Harmony World Headquarters.
